A COOKBOOK written by a Filipino author recently bagged two titles in the 2020 Gourmand International Cookbook Awards, as it was named winner in the "Best in Pastry and Dessert" and "Best in Diet" categories.

"Divine Sweets and Treats" was written by Eleanor "Elle" Rivera, an educator and founder of Healing Present Nature and Wellness Center.

Rivera's first cookbook, “Organic Divine Gorgeous Recipes to a Passionate Cook,” won the 2017 Gourmand International Cookbook Awards in the Public Health and Nutrition category.

The second book, "Divine Sweets and Treats," is geared toward both kids and adults, with over 200 pages of gorgeous photographs and healthy and organic recipes of snacks and desserts such as such as puddings, ice creams, brownies and cookies, among others.

The cookbook guides readers on how to make these nutritious and organic treats, as each recipe is simple to make and uses locally accessible ingredients for those living in the Philippines and the global tropics. It also introduces children to their health programs as well as individuals who sustain and operate the center.

Rivera and Healing Present also offer recipe alternatives for those using temperate fruits and vegetables, herbs, spices and other ingredients. Proceeds from the cookbook’s sales will directly go to children's feeding and nutrition programs in the Philippines.

You may order your limited edition of Divine Sweets and Treats at healingpresent.org.
