Andanar: NorMin ranks 1st in campaign vs insurgency

PRESIDENTIAL Communication Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday, December 13, congratulated the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-Elcac) in Northern Mindanao as it ranked number one in the Philippines.

“Congratulations sa Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, sa atong mga leader sa RTF, kay ang RTF nato diri sa Region 10 maoy number one nga banggiitan nga RTF sa tibuok Pilipinas,” Andanar said.

(Congratulations to the RTF-Eclac and to our leaders since the RTF in Northern Mindanao ranked number one in the entire country.)

Andanar said the RTF-Elcac in Northern Mindanao is leading in the campaign to end local communist armed conflict, particularly in the number of rebels and firearms that surrendered.

He added that these rebels who abandoned the armed struggle have availed the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-Clip) of the government.

The E-Clip aims to assist former rebels and their families by providing them with opportunities. The program has two components: basic entrepreneurial and skills training, and provision of starter kits and packages.

Andanar also expressed his gratitude to the media for the support it has given to the RTF-Elcac, saying that without their reports, the public will not be able to learn about the RTF-Elcac’s achievements in the campaign to end local communist armed conflict.

“Magpadayon ang among trabaho. Bag-o lag nahuman ang atong regional task force meeting karong 4th quarter. We are all inspired to continue our work as ordered by the president based on the Executive Order 70, The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict,” Andanar said.
