DENIMS, whether a button-down shirt or jeans, are among the most common and favorite outfit of many individuals. The comfort of wearing them is one of the many reasons why people choose them over the others.
Personally, I love denim pants, jackets, blouses, and dresses because of their versatility. I can mix and match them with different footwear and accessories to achieve the look I have been dreaming to exude.
Here are some tips on how to look good when in denims:
1. Do not be afraid to wear distressed jeans. The ripped denim bottoms can give you that sexy look, especially if it is paired with the right shoes. You can opt for stilettos or something with heels to make your legs look longer and slimmer. Meanwhile, if you want a more rugged look, you can use boots or sneakers instead sans the plaid button-down shirt.
2. Pick the right shade to enhance your “assets” and hide your “liabilities”. If you want to highlight your thin waist, you can wear a lighter shade of denim top to draw people’s attention to the upper or mid portion of your body. However, if your mid-section is what you want to hide, pick a darker shade for your blouse or polo.
3. Do not “overkill” the look. If you are wearing a denim on denim ensemble, do not overdo it by pairing it with denim accessories and footwear. In short, if you are already using a denim pants and button-down polo, never make the mistake of wearing a denim necklace or boots or pairing the look with a denim bag.
4. Avoid the same shades from head to toe. You might be thinking that it is cute when wearing everything that matches with each other. However, it might just make the look monotonous or flat. To avoid this, use different shades for your top and bottom. For you accessories, wear something colorful or with a brighter shade.
5. Do not think of the cowboy look as an inspiration unless it is the theme of the party you are attending. When you are told that you should wear denims to the gathering, make sure to clarify the theme. Unless they say that it is going to be a cowboy-themed party, never attempt to dress like a cowboy. It does not look good. Period.
The versatility of denims cannot be denied. It is your creativity and fashion sense that would make or break the entire ensemble.
