Capitol turns over P9.2-M budget for education

THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has turned over the P9.2 million fund to the Department of Education (DepEd) in Northern Mindanao which will be used to buy state-of-the-art equipment for selected public high schools in the province.

This project, which aims to further enhance the education program in Misamis Oriental, involves six schools, including Kalingagan National High School in Villanueva town, Talisayan National High School in Talisayan town, Laguindingan National High School in Laguindingan, Kibungsod National High School in Magsaysay town, Mambayaan National High School in Balingasag town and Esperanza National High School in Kinoguitan municipality.

Each schools, according to Provincial Information Office head Carlo Dugaduga, will receive P1.53 million for the funding to buy equipment for cooking, welding, among others.

Governor Yevgeny Emano said he believes that education is the bridge to a better future of the youth and the children of the next generation.

He added that it is something that should be given importance, particularly in public schools where students with difficult circumstances tried their best to finish their education. (Jo Ann Sablad)
