CLARK FREEPORT -- Once the PNR Clark Phase 1 is completed in 2021, travel time from Tutuban in Manila to Malolos, Bulacan will be reduced from one hour and 30 minutes to just 35 minutes.

This was the assessment of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) once the segment of the railway project is completed.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and his DOTr team winds up their Railways project ocular inspection with a site visit at the Calumpit construction site of the ongoing construction of the PNR Clark Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos).

PNR Clark Phase 1, the 38-kilometer railway project that will connect Bulacan to Manila, will have a total of 10 stations at Tutuban, Solis, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas, Guiguinto, and Malolos station, with a depot at a 14-hectare lot in Valenzuela City.

Once it is set for partial operations by the fourth quarter of 2021, travel time between Tutuban, Manila and Malolos, Bulacan will be reduced from one hour and 30 minutes to just 35 minutes.

The rail line can serve approximately 300,000 passengers daily.
