Anti-ASF group intercepts 7 boxes of hotdogs in Oro

MEMBERS of the Anti-African Swine Fever (ASF) Task Force have intercepted seven boxes of hotdogs from Manila in a depot in Alwana, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City, Monday, December 16.

City Veterinarian Lucien Anthony Acac said the boxes, which contained 10 packs of one kilogram jumbo hotdog each, were kept inside a freezer van together with other boxes of processed chicken tocino and chicken ham.

The task force said the hotdogs were not declared in the documents.

“We discovered and we found out it contains seven boxes of jumbo hotdog with pork ingredients. We compared it to their documents and it was not declared in the documents that there was that seven boxes of jumbo hotdogs contain inside that van. So gi-insert nila,” Acac said.

The task force will not file charges against the consignee but they were advised to ship back the goods to Manila as soon as possible.

“Gi-hold to siya, picturan then documentation (then) advised to ship back to the point of origin,” Acac said.

“Ang amo sa among Executive Order sa 172 sa temporary total ban mao ra gyud na simple ship back to the point of origin, wala na ng filing of cases, wala na na siya,” he added.

The city veterinarian further said there has been no plan to lift the temporary ban for the entry of live pork and processed pork goods in the city.
