IN A BID to ease congestion at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post, authorities set in place a traffic scheme for trucks delivering their goods.

Effective December 16, all trucks entering the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post must bear certain color to easily identify their entry time in the facility.

Executive Order No.29-2019 signed by Mayor Romeo Salda said corresponding colors were given for farmers, short trips/loop services, haulers, and truckers with various time of entry and stay within the trading post.

“With the advent of the Yuletide Season, the increase in the volume of vehicles at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post is expected,” the order states.

In a consultation with the trucking associations at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post, backfill and Balangsha area, a traffic scheme will be implemented during the Yuletide season to properly manage the traffic in the area.

All trucks will be allowed to enter the backfill area from 1 p.m. onwards and trucks bound to Balangsha area will be allowed to enter 1 p.m. onwards.

Trucks loading and unloading vegetables at the trading post will be allowed a maximum of three hours to park while Nueva Vizcaya and La Union loop vans are allowed to park and haul vegetables at the facility for a maximum of one hour and 30 minutes.

Penalty will be applied to vehicles parking for more than one hour.

The executive order also prohibits vehicles to park, load or unload except at designated areas.

Nora Ganase, president of the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post Association Inc., said the traffic scheme will be effective from December 16 to January 10.

On a daily basis, she added there are 100 trucks entering the facility with a maximum of 200 trucks.
