CHRISTMAS will be merry for over 13,000 barangay health workers, animal health aides, nutrition scholars and day care workers who received double the cash incentives as promised to them by the Cebu Provincial Government.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia spearheaded the distribution of financial incentives during the barangay workers’ first general assembly held at the Minglanilla Sports Complex on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019.

“They can be assured that for as long as Gwen Garcia is here, the assistance and help that they were able to experience in my earlier terms will continue. We will give them importance because they’ve been a great help to the Province. I am only on my first six months as governor, but I’ve already fulfilled my campaign promise (for the May 2019 elections),” Garcia told reporters in Cebuano.

All qualified barangay workers in the municipalities and component cities in the province received the incentive and other gifts. Those from the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Cebu were not qualified because they belong to independent, highly urbanized cities.

Present during Wednesday’s event were barangay workers from 39 towns and seven component cities under the Province. (RTF)
