Vice guv urges authorities to solve killings

VICE Governor Jeffrey Ferrer is also urging authorities to solve the killings in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

The spate of killings may adversely affect the local business climate, Ferrer said.

Ferrer was reacting to the recent broad daylight murder of Filipino-Chinese businessman Roberto “Kaisek” Tan and other extrajudicial killings that recently happened in the province.

If there is peace, investors will come in but if there is no stable security, they will go away, he said.

“We should look at the reasons for all of these killings,” Ferrer added.

Ferrer has echoed the concern of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and the local business sector.

Frank Carbon, executive officer of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), said the local businessmen are “worried.”

“We have not experienced this kind of killings. We cannot make sense why these killings? The sector is very worried and wary,” Carbon said.

“What we are seeking right now is justice for the victims,” he said. (TDE)
