CEBUANO tycoon Augusto Go is betting on the beauty business.
The lawyer-philanthropist has invested on Skin and Wellness Center located inside UCMed in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City.
“People now put a premium on wellness,” Go said in an interview Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at the opening of the hospital’s aesthetic and dermatology clinic.
“At first I was hesitant to establish this,” Go said, noting that the whole idea was conceived by his wife and daughter.
Go, who is also owner of the University of Cebu and St. Vincent Hospital, observed that the market now is inclined to aiming to “live long” and have “less stress.”
“Usually, every morning, the first thing we do is to face the mirror and think about how we look,” he said of why the beauty business is the “in” thing nowadays.
Go noted that the market’s demand is for services that would “enhance” physical appearance.
UCMed’s aesthetic center has at least six dermatologists. It features modern equipment that was all imported, Go said.
The clinic offers the most advanced technological solutions such as fat elimination procedures, body sculpting and toning, kinetic face lift, hydrating facials and treatments and advanced laser removal.
Cebu, seen as a potential hub for medical tourism, has seen the opening of several beauty clinics across the metro amid the demand for wellness services.
Both local and international beauty brands have entered the Cebu beauty market to take advantage of this demand. (CSL)
