BIR personnel distribute food packs to Guagua indigents

PERSONNEL and officials of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Central Luzon hosted a gift-giving activity for indigent children of the Gawad Kalinga Village in Barangay San Agustin, Guagua town.

BIR personnel distributed food packs to some 60 children at the Guagua Artist Haven. The event was in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

Observed from November 25 to December 12, the campaign aims to raise awareness among all stakeholders that VAW is a public issue of national concern. It likewise supports the Philippine government’s goal to protect the human rights of women and its commitment to address all forms of gender-based violence. The theme “VAW-free community starts with Me” enjoins everyone to pursue the common vision of building a community free from violence against women.

The food distribution was attended by Mayor Dante Torres who thanked the BIR for their support to the Gawad Kalinga community here. Torres said that his administration is in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
