OVER 14,000 families from the 33 villages of Candaba town received gift packs from the local government.
Mayor Rene Maglanque, together with Vice Mayor Michael Sagum and the Municipal Council members, led the week-long distribution activity to personally wish every recipient happy holidays.
Maglanque said they distributed the gift packs to ensure that every Candabeño family can come together on Christmas eve with food on their table.
“It has been a tradition for every Filipino family to eat a meal together during Noche Buena and we hope to preserve that by sharing a little gift to add to their dishes,” he said.
Maglanque said all the 14,074 families registered in the local government census received the said food packs.
“We did not exempt anybody because Christmas is the season of giving and it is for everybody and of course, everybody is entitled of the services of the local government,” he said.
