THOSE traveling outside Cebu by boat should do so before Monday, Dec. 23, 2019.

This, after officials of the weather bureau Pagasa disclosed that a tropical depression is set to enter the country and may bring rains and rough sea conditions before Christmas.

“Better that they travel during the weekend as by Monday, sea conditions will not be favorable,” said Al Quiblat, Pagasa Mactan acting director.

In its weather update Saturday, Dec. 21, Pagasa reported that the tropical depression was located 1,855 kilometers east of Mindanao.

Once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday, the tropical depression will be named “Ursula.”

By Christmas Day, the tropical depression will be located 80 kilometers northwest of Lapu-Lapu City.

It is also expected to make landfall in Eastern Visayas and the Caraga region.

The tropical depression is also expected to bring heavy rains starting Christmas Eve. / HBL / JKV
