STARBUCKS Philippines opened on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, its first Starbucks Reserve® store in Cebu City at the Ayala Malls Central Bloc in Cebu IT Park.

This is the first Reserve store outside Metro Manila.

Designed with chic interiors known to the coffee shop and added features such as the “Reserve Bar,” this first Reserve store outside of Metro Manila offers customers front row seats to a “coffee theater.”

Reserve is a selection of the rarest, most extraordinary coffees Starbucks has to offer. The store entrance opens to two coffee bars: first, a familiar counter where customers redeem their favorite handcrafted beverages and another—much longer one—dubbed the “Reserve Bar” that is dedicated to showcasing different brewing methods.

Starbucks Reserve® store is located on the ground floor of Ayala Malls Central Bloc.

Similar to other Reserve® stores, the Central Bloc store is led and managed by highly-trained and certified Global Coffee Masters donning elegant Reserve aprons.

They belong to the Global Coffee Masters network, which is composed of Starbucks partners who have taken intensive courses on coffee appreciation and mastery. These baristas share their passion for coffee by recommending brewing methods and the best way to enjoy coffee. Coffee lovers may choose from four brewing methods for their beverages—siphon, chemex, pour over and the black eagle.

“The Reserve® store is designed to put coffee craft at the center of the conversation, where the coffee bars are interactive and customers can immerse and engage with our partners (employees) about how coffee is prepared on a siphon or on black eagle (espresso machine),” said Keith Cole, head of marketing and category for Starbucks Philippines.

The new store will also offer thoughtfully crafted beverages. The roster of coffee-based ice cream beverages includes the classic affogato, the house affogato, the cold brew and the nitro cold brew float and the cold brew malt.

Besides carefully preparing handcrafted beverages, Starbucks also collaborated with an up-and-coming Filipino artist Hannah Sol Hortelano-Obcial to adorn its walls with splendid artworks to give customers a pleasant experience. Complementing the soft curves and waves of the store’s interior design, the mural is inspired by the Cebu seaside landscapes, beaches, waves and vibrant colors. (PR)
