Capitol presents schedule of activities for 7th Kuyamis Festival

THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, through its tourism department, has lined up activities for the celebration of the Kuyamis Festival on January 6 to 11, 2020.

The celebration will open with a Holy Mass at the Provincial Capitol grounds at 7 a.m. on January 6, followed by the festival’s opening program which will mark the beginning of the Booth Competition and the Kuyamis Sports Fest.

The Farmers’ Market and Kuyamis Bazaar and Café will also be open for business during the week-long celebration of the Kuyamis Festival.

In the afternoon, the 7th Kuyamis Festival Culture and Arts Exhibit will be made available to the public at the Centrio Ayala Mall activity center.

The Binuangan Kiddie Pool located at the Lourdes Bay, Binuangan, Misamis Oriental will be inaugurated at 4 p.m. on the same day.

At 7 p.m., the ATOM 7th Kuyamis Festival Night will be conducted by the local government units in the province’s first district at the Sugbongcogon Gymnasium.

The ATOM 7th Kuyamis Festival Night by the local government units in the second district will be held on January 7 at the Naawan Covered Court.

For job seekers, the Provincial Government will hold a job fair at the Capitol grounds on January 8.

One of the festival’s highlights, the Street Dance Competition, is set to happen on the same day, with the participants performing from the Capitol grounds to the Pelaez Sports Center.

On January 9, the much-awaited coronation night of Miss Kuyamis 2020 will be held at the El Salvador City Gymnasium.

Other activities set for the week-long celebration are: 2nd Governor Bambi Emano Horse Show and Competition on January 10 to 11; Dog Fashion Show at the Capitol park (January 10); Explore MisOr Mindanao Overland Expedition (January 10 to 11); 1st Governor Bambi Emano Autocross and Car Show (January 11); and Queen of Misamis Oriental 2020 (January 11).

The celebration will end with the 7th Kuyamis Festival Governor’s Night and Awarding Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Grounds at 7 p.m. on January 11.
