Cuenco: The freedom to choose

FOUND in the most desirable retail locations across six continents, including London’s Oxford Street and New York City’s Times Square, Inglot Cosmetics has recently arrived in Cebu, following the brand’s success in its first four outlets in Manila. The makeup brand founded in 1983 by Polish chemist Wojtek Inglot delivers pigmented, high quality cosmetics at a competitive price tag. How high quality? Inglot is present in Fashion Week and on Broadway, working with companies like Kenzo and Coach, and productions like “The Lion King” and “Wicked.”

One of Inglot’s most recent collaborations is with my celebrity crush Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer worked closely with the brand for everything from shade range to shade names. If we can get just a step closer to achieving that “JLo glow,” why not?

Inglot may be best known for its Freedom System, which allows makeup enthusiasts to choose pans of eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, and more so that your personalized palette will contain only the shades you love. The palette itself is environmentally friendly, very sleek and compact, yet each pan holds plenty of product–and it’s magnetized! For anyone who has tried to depot single eyeshadows and blushes into a personalized palette, this is a huge relief. No more ruining powder products while prying it out of the original packaging and struggling to remove adhesive from the back of the pan.

The difficulty may be in choosing, as palettes can be designed to hold as many as 40 products. Inglot offers more than 1,500 shades, not yet counting nail polishes.

Inglot is lead- and paraben-free, does not test on animals, and 95 percent of its products are made in its own facility in Europe according to strict manufacturing standards.

Find Inglot Cosmetics in Ayala Center Cebu, near Rustan’s beauty section and Kiehl’s.
