Paz brings Christmas cheer to children

IT WAS a very merry Christmas for children in conflict with the law, as well as abandoned children and victims of abuse residing at the Homecare Center for Children in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, after Rep. Paz Radaza threw them a Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 22, and played Santa besides.

The children’s Christmas party was held at the newly completed covered court in the facility.

Along with Radaza (Lapu-Lapu City, Lone District), present at the party were City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) head Ermelita Degamo and staff members of the city government-run facility.

The dinner party was the occasion for the youth to show their talent in Christmas-themed song and dance presentations, and then to partake in the sumptuous meal prepared for them.

The celebration was made merrier with Radaza’s distribution of bundles of joy that included fruits and toys.

Also receiving bundles of joy were all the CSWDO staff members running the facility.

“I’m very happy that I was able to return to Home Care despite my many appointments. I don’t mind celebrating Christmas here with the children,” Radaza said.

The Homecare Center for Children was put up when Radaza was mayor of the city.

“I love these children. They are close to my heart, which is why I make time to celebrate a Christmas party with them.” (GCM)
