ALTHOUGH Typhoon Ursula is no longer directly affecting the country, moderate to occasional heavy rains brought by the tail-end of a cold front will be experienced over parts of Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa said the tail-end will bring moderate to occasional heavy rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao, while the rest of Cagayan Valley and CAR will experience light to moderate rains.
At 10:00 a.m. Friday, the center of Typhoon Ursula was estimated 365 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales.
Pagasa added rainfall may trigger flooding and landslides in highly to very highly susceptible areas.
It also advised residents, especially those living in areas that are highly susceptible to flooding and rain-induced landslides, to take appropriate actions, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices , and continue monitoring for updates.
Meanwhile, "Ursula" is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning, December 28. (EZN/SunStar Philippines)
