THE Davao Durians Rugby Football Club (DDRFC) will hold a get-together with youth players, teachers and parents set at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 28, at the SOS Children’s Village Davao.
DDRFC general manager Hilton Soberano said, “This is the first time I’ll be meeting the club after my development leadership program from New Zealand so even if light and informal sya plan din namin for this event to springboard our initiatives next year, not just focusing on rugby or sports, but in supporting young people and the community through sports which we will be making more explicit starting 2020.”
He said the event is a collaborative effort with support from volunteers from the venue to the food.
Soberano underscored that as a community club they are particular in collaborative action and support from everyone.
“Ganito din kasi ang activities namin pinu-promote namin na community driven lalo na galing sa youth. This 2020 we hope to include parents and teachers, etc. not just as support but as part of the decision making din ng club,” he told Sun.Star Davao via Facebook Messenger.
The gathering will be attended by Mindanao rugby board members, parents, teachers and supporters as well as youth members who have been very active all these years.
