Decomposing body found in creek

THE decomposing body of the 42-year-old man was found at a creek in Purok Kamansi, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Thursday evening, December 26.

Police identified the victim as Samuel Ausan Sr., of Purok Riverside Zone 2, Barangay Bata, Bacolod.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Friday the body of the victim was found by the scavenger at around 6 p.m.

He said the body of the victim was already in the state of decomposition and they cannot conclude yet his cause of death.

He added the victim’s body was positively identified by his 18-year-old son Samuel Jr.

Investigation showed the victim was usually seen in the creek and used to pick up some vegetables and hunting birds in the area.

Ausan’s family told the police that he was an alcoholic and there’s a possibility that he was under the influence of intoxicating liquor when he fell into creek.

Pico said the Ausan family also refused for an autopsy on the victim’s body.

He said the personnel of Police Station 3 are still conducting further investigation on the incident.
