HAU gets intellectual property accreditation

A UNIVERSITY in Angeles City, Pampanga recently received an innovation and technology accreditation from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

The Holy Angel University (HAU) received the accreditation following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between IPOPHL Director General Josephine Santiago and HAU president Luis Maria Calingo.

The MOA signing was part of the "A Mark to Remember" culminating activity of the IPOPHL’s threefold milestones.

The milestones include the director general’s report on the status of the Indigenous People developments in the Philippines; the official release of the document on National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS) report; and the seal of IPOPHL's appreciation of its partners and stakeholders for their support and cooperation with the IPOPHL.

HAU is now one of the only 100 Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) universities in the country.

As the university begins to function as an IPOPHL-accredited ITSO university, faculty, students, researchers, and innovators of HAU and non-HAU stakeholders can now avail intellectual property and technology transfer services.
