A TOP official of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has identified four villages as smuggling hot spots in Zamboanga City.
BOC-Zamboanga District Collector Segundo Sigmundfreud Barte, Jr., named the village smuggling hot spots villages as Arena Blanco, Mampang, Talon-Talon, and Campo Islam.
Barte said one of the priorities of his office this year is to intensify the anti-smuggling campaign in the mainland of this city.
The campaign will be jointly undertaken by his office with the Task Force Zamboanga and the local government, he added.
He said they will also coordinate with the Liga ng mga Barangay to ensure that the concerned village officials will join the campaign.
Barte said they will also work with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) who will handle the filing of cases against smugglers. (SunStar Zamboanga)
