Governor’s Cup tablenet winners named

THE 2019 Governor’s Cup Invitational Table Tennis Championship was indeed a success with hundreds of paddlers displayed their talents last December 27 to 29, 2019 at the Lopue’s Table Tennis Association Playing Center at the Lopue”s San Sebastian Annex Building in Bacolod City.

Winning the 10 and Under Girls is Ameera Bacomo from La Castellana as Nicole Camille Bomban of ETCS finished 1st runner up while Alexza Gigato of La Carlota City and Sarah Daguia from ETCS settled for 2nd runner-up.

For the 10 and Under Boys, Daryl Gorecho from Cadiz City ruled the division as Sagay City’s Kervin Saban and Jayvee Javelosa settled for 1st and 2nd runner-up.

On the other hand, Negros Occidental High School’s Nekka Daguia dominated the 13 and Under Girls as Alyssah Faith Bermejo of LOPTTA La Salle finished 1st runner-up as Ricci Cresdel Sausa of Silay City and Jonah Mae Gonzales from Toboso finished 2nd runner-up.

For the 13 and Under Boys, Dirk Atilano from La Carlota City won the category followed by Anton Andre Bayona from LOPTTA La Salle as Shaun Rain Jardinico from LOPTTA La Salle and Marcus Barrido from Barotac Viejo settled for 2nd runner-up.

Meanwhile, LOPTTA La Salle’s top paddler Micah Tanate dominated the 18 and Under Girls as Jonah Mae Gonzales of Toboso finished 1st runner-up while Alyssah Faith Bermejo of LOPTTA La Salle and Nekka Daguia of ETCS finished 2nd runner-up.

Dirk Atilano, meanwhile, ruled the 18 and Under Boys, followed by SB Ginete of La Carlota City as Rinkart Ravello of La Castellana and Daniel John Bulquerin of Roxas City settled for 2nd runner-up.

Complete results: (Women’s Executive A) - Kimberly Trasporto of La Carlota La Salle, champion; 1st runner up - Gea Kristine de los Reyes of La Carlota City; and 2nd runner up Romela Sebullen of St. John Institute; (Women’s Executive B) - Dr. Analou Claridad of Riverside College, champion; 1st runner-up - Dezza Samulde of La Salle; 2nd runner up - Ma. Lee Trasporto of La Carlota and Jiji Berina of Riverside College; (Men’s Executive) - Pastor Richard Ginete La Carlota City, champion; 1st runner-up Ervin Bomban of Altruist; 2nd runner-ups Garry Trasporto of La Carlota City and Robert Arteche of Tacloban City; and Robert Arteche dominated the Veterans division as Felipe Epitacio finished 1st runner-up as Rev. Joel Valdez of Bacolod City and Ben Alo of Cadiz City settled 2nd runner-up.

The event was bankrolled by the Province of Negros Occidental, and LOPTTA headed by its president, Dr. Leonito “Diotay” Lopue.*
