Zero ‘indiscriminate firing’ incident on New Year’s Day

PHILIPPINE Army 303rd Infantry Brigade (303IB) commander Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte said they did not record any case of indiscriminate firing among their personnel during the New Year’s Day celebration.

Pasaporte lauded his personnel for following directives.

He said that the army personnel observed its discipline among its ranks.

He also pointed the troops heeded the repeated warnings of possible administrative case and dismissal from the service should they violate the order.

Meanwhile, Pasaporte also said the 303IB will further boost their anti-insurgency campaign in Negros this year.

Pasaporte said their campaign against the rebels last year had been successful, and also touted their gains.

The 303IB recorded a total of 20 clashes in Negros last year.

Meanwhile a total of 26 firecracker-related incidents were recorded by the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office.

The 26 Firecrackers injuries reported were in La Castellana – 5, Kabankalan – 1, Talisay – 5, Hinigaran – 7, Silay – 2, Cadiz – 4, and Moses Padilla - 2.
