Bacolod business-one-stop-shop starts

THE City Government of Bacolod started Thursday, January 2, the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) at the Bacolod Government Center (BGC).

Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, member of Anti-Red Tape Act Core Team, said Thursday representatives from the City Health Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Office of the Building Official, Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the villages were already at the BGC.

He said of 61 villages, 22 already joined the BOSS.

“It’s the responsibility of the barangay (village) officials to comply with the Republic Act (RA) 11032 or an Act promoting ease of doing business and efficient delivery of government services, amending for the purpose of RA 9484 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007,” he added.

The standard steps in processing the business permits have been reduced to only three from the previous five.

“Those who have 2019 business permit can go directly to their respective barangays for clearances and no need to secure an application form our office. Only the new business permit application will secure a form,” Montoya said.

The Permits and Licensing Division also assured the business owners that they can release a copy of the business permit in a day as long as the clearances and payment are already finished. (MAP)
