NONSTOP rains caused a landslide that covered a portion of the road in a village in Taft, Eastern Samar Friday morning, January 3.
No one was killed or injured in the incident, which occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday in the village of Binaloan in Taft, said barangay captain Edwin Vinas.
Responding policemen from Taft led by Lieutenant Ruben Pascual Caspe said the landslide covered a portion of the road, rendering it not passable to all kinds of vehicles.
Authorities have coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways in Borongan City, Eastern Samar for the road clearing operation. (Ronald O. Reyes/SunStar Philippines)
