ANG Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) niawhag sa mga local government units (LGU) nga undangon na ang paggamit sa mga karsada isip parking space ug ubang pampublikong lugar aron masunod ang kagustohan ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte.
Si Interior Secretary Eduardo Año niluwat og memorandum circular number 2019-193 nga gipadala ngadto sa mga gobernador, mayor, bise mayor, barangay kapitan, DILG regional directors ug ubang mga ahensiya sa gobiyerno aron kini ipatuman.
“In support of the President’s directive to reclaim and clear public spaces, this Circular is being issued to enjoin LGU to responsibly exercise the authority granted by law to regulate the use of streets, avenues, sidewalks, parks, and other public places within their areas of jurisdiction, as well as, sustain the efforts that have already been undertaken relative to road clearing,” tipik sa memo ni Año.
Gawas niini, partikular nga gihatagan og gibug-aton sa DILG ubos sa liderato ni Año mao ang paggamit sa mga karsada isip pay parking bay sa mga sakyanan diin ang mga LGU ang nagkolekta sa bayad.
“LGU’s are required not to use public places, particularly the thoroughfares for parking purposes and instead identify separate facility specially designed for public parking whenever possible,” dugang sa memo ni Año.

Apan si Mayor Edgardo Labella nagkanayon nga kon kini maoy kagustohan sa DILG, hilabi na nga nahiuyon kini sa direktiba ni Duterte, iya kining ipatuman sa Siyudad.
“By all means, we will have to abide by it and after we shall have evaluated, studied and revisited our pay parking ordinance, then there will be a need for the involvement of the Sangguniang Panlungsod because we will implement an amendment or repeal our existing ordinance,” padayag ni Labella.
Giangkon sa mayor nga maapektohan ang koleksyon sa Siyudad bisan kon gi-privatize na ang koleksyon sa parking sanglit maghatag sila og annual payment sa Dakbayan.
“We are not really dependent on (parking collection)that. We are very financially sound . Well, of course it can reduce but it will not adversely affect the financial capability of the City of Cebu,” dugang ni Labella.
Si City Administrator Floro Casas Jr. nagkanayon nga kon mapatuman ni Labella ang memo, dako kini og ikatabang sa pagpaluag sa dagan sa mga sakyanan hilabi na sa downtown area. (PAC)
