New Clark City: An unprecedented project

CLARK FREEPORT -- Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president Vince Dizon has described The New Clark City (NCC) as an unprecedented project of the government.

“This smart city project in Capas, Tarlac, which is under the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program of President Duterte, is really unprecedented. This is the first time something of this scale is being done in the country, hindi lang po sa Tarlac kung hindi sa buong bansa,” Dizon said.

The project includes the development of almost 10,000 hectare property inside the Clark Special Economic Zone, the BCDA top executive added.

The New Clark City will be connected to the Clark International Airport, Subic Seaport, Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway and all other provincial government and local government units throughout the Clark Special Economic Zone, Dizon said.

A huge portion of NCC property is within the territorial jurisdiction of Tarlac province, the BCDA boss disclosed.

Dizon stressed that the government need the support of the local government units (LGUs) for the success of the NCC project.

“Our partnership with the provincial government of Tarlac and the other LGUs of Tarlac especially Capas and Bamban is so important for the success of New Clark City,” the BCDA chief said.

Dizon has underscored the importance of inclusive growth and parallel development to help surrounding communities.

“It is so important for us to have a partnership with the provincial government and the LGUs because we want this development primarily to be the most inclusive development in the country,” he added.
