Tugade renews commitment to complete DOTr projects

CLARK FREEPORT -- Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade has renewed his commitment to complete government projects.

Tugade affirmed his commitment to push for the accelerated pace of completion of projects and initiative of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and all of its attached agencies.

Tugade, who is ready to confront any challenges, reiterated his priority to protect the welfare of the DOTr, the country and the Filipino people.

“They know me as a son-of-a-b****. I am willing to stay and remain son-of-a-b**** for the benefit of this department and of this country. I am not running a popularity contest here,” Tugade said on imposing deadlines concerning government projects.

The agency continues to implement infrastructure projects of the Duterte administration. In 2019, the agency completed various transport projects.

In the aviation alone, the DOTr and its attached agencies have completed 64 airport projects while 133 more are ongoing.

Some of the airport projects implemented in 2019 are the Clark International Airport, Bohol-Panglao International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Sangley Airport in Cavite, Lal Lo International Airport, Tacloban International Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport and others.

The DOTr stated that the number of airports completed from 2016 to 2019 has reached 119 with 70 under the DOTr and 49 under the Civil Authority of the Philippines.
