Estremera: Uncertain times

THE last months of 2019 beamed stories of bushfires in Australia. Now, as the weather seems not inclined to bring steady, heavy rains anytime soon, the bushfires rage on threatening more and more residents and killing off Australia’s diverse fauna. I’ve hidden all posts that have photos of burnt animals, it just hits me in a different horrifying way.

Just recently, we have the Donald to worry about. Not the Duck, I wish it was. The Trump and the glee his fellow hawks are cheering the death of Iran’s general is sending horrific shivers down my spine, and so I hit the hide button once more on my social media.

These are horrifying events that we do not have any control of. Should all these worsen, we will be among the souls caught in the crossfire – of war, global animosity, and weather so hot things can just combust.

Lame as it may sound to doomsday preppers, our only recourse is to have faith and refuse to take part in the future of global animosity and sufferings by not imagining what they want us to imagine.

The good books are all saying that we create our own reality. With not a single physical means to affect change and simmer down both the weather and the warring countries, we can always use this uncertain times to experiment on what creating our own reality means.

Lost for directions? Just hold on to faith and believe that your world is a Paradise. Throw worries to the wind and live like birds, who worry not about their next meal nor what to wear.

True, the same birds got caught in the fire... billions of animals in fact got caught in the Australian fire, billions or even maybe trillions of trees now nothing but ash. But that’s because the humans anticipated the worst and in their collective anticipation the fires grew into tornadoes.

Be ready, yes, as we were all prepared what to do during earthquakes. But don’t let the worry linger on. It has already been said before, repeatedly in different ways and through different belief systems and religions. We just can’t muster that much faith because we have been raised to fend for ourselves and our family on our own.

But what if?

Those stuff in the holy books be it the Bible, the Qur’an, the Bhagavad Gita or even more contemporary writers and teachers like Deepak Chopra and Pranic Healing Grand Master Choa Kok Sui must have discerned sometime somewhere that this is the truth whether we believe it or not. For why would they be speaking of similar things, eons, centuries and persuasions apart?

One thing is sure: We live in uncertain times and beyond losing sleep because of worries over something way beyond our control, I’d rather do something and that is to contribute my reality of peace, harmony, and happiness. Dreaming? At least I have a beautiful dream.

Happy New Year to all. Imagine 2020 as the best year yet and hold on to that image. Should it not work, at least you have saved yourself from a lot of unnecessary worries and you have basked in the imagery of your dreams.
