NEW Year, new me.

You might have heard this for a lot of times already from different people. This could mean a number of things.

Some people could have been thinking about improving their outlook in life. They could also be embracing a healthier lifestyle, or even make some changes in their looks.

Reinventing the looks could refer to various things, too. It could be the hair color, fashion style, and others.

Whether you are a celebrity or not, you can always try something new to improve your looks or fashion sense. Here are some of the responses I got from those who have plans of embracing a change this 2020:

For the gorgeous member of the team that protects the country’s highest official, Roda Leoncito, it is her goal to be slimmer this year.

"I will be smaller, I think, and will practically be more conscious of my facial regimen for the leaner look I want," she said.

If you happen to see Roda, you might not believe that she is one of the uniformed personnel who stand next to the President.

Meanwhile, Philippine Broadcasting Service (PBS) executive assistant and radio host Rochelle Rubio-Confesor is going back to “basic”.

“I cut my hair shorter and dyed it black. Back to basic,” she said. “I needed it. My hair was a mess - too long, dry, and hard to manage plus it was turning grey and gold. Terrible combination! I like it better this time. Easy-to-manage, healthier hair means more time for other important things.”

She added that black makes her look a little bit younger. Well, for me, Rochelle does not look 44 at all!

For triathlon "babe" Bea Lao, becoming healthier is her unending goal. To do it, she will continue to run and do cardio exercises at least three times a week. She has also committed to eating less rice for her to achieve her weight goal.

For Philippine News Agency Davao bureau chief Che Palicte, changing her hair color to ash grey can be the best way to reinvent her looks. It is something that would soften her features and make her look younger.

Marketing associate Rozzi Celino is embracing a healthier lifestyle, which includes regular exercise and proper diet.

As with me, my hairstylist friend Pepzie Belulo made a big change to my hair. He had it dyed with a lighter shade of brown and gave me some side bangs to make me feel (not just look) younger. You know, when you are almost 40, it is a welcome treat when someone helps you look better. Thank you, my beauty fairy!

Apart from my hair transformation, I have been doing a special regimen as well to have glass skin. So far, I have been happy and satisfied with the results.

How about you? How do you plan to reinvent yourself this Year of the Metal Rat?
