DAVAO DE ORO -- The remains of a man, who is said to have died after he vomited live fiddler crabs, were laid to rest around 2 p.m. last Saturday, January 4, in a cemetery in New Bataan, Davao de Oro. The man known as alias Macky, 22, who was working at a local government unit in Cotabato and a native of Barangay Cogonon in Compostela. It was reported that the victim was said to be in a relationship with a woman who has different religion. But he left the woman and started having a relationship with another woman who shares the same belief as his. Macky's stomach began to swell and he started vomiting live fiddler crabs last December 19, 2019 in Cotabato City until he died. Aside from the fiddler crabs, he also vomited sea sand. Fiddler crabs are small crabs which are most well known for their sexually dimorphic claws as the males’ major claw is much larger than the minor claw while the females’ claws are both the same size. According to the victim's neighbor, Macky was sent to a hospital prior to the incident but the doctor who attended to him saw no cause for his illness.
