The CSAV Titans survived the hard fighting Sum-ag National High School Golden Stags, 84-75. The Titans trailed the first 2 quarters, 35-39 deficit as Baby Alfred Morales sizzled with 10 points for the Golden Stags. But, Joshua Dayon poured 13 points of Sta. Ana’s 32-19 run in the third quarter to boost a 67-48 lead over Sum-ag NHS going into the final quarter.

However, the Golden Stags gave out what remained in their artillery as they tied the game at 73-all with 4 minutes left in the game. They continued to take control of the game on a 5-point advantage entering the 2-minute mark. But, fouls and missed charities hurt the Sum-ag NHS as CSAV made no mistake on their counter offense and eventually pulled a victory.

In the game, Regional Meet-bound Bacolod Tay Tung High School outplayed Negros Occidental High School in a lopsided result, 115-45.

A well-balanced offense by the Tay Tung Thunderbolts registered a stunning 34-7 scoreline in the first period and extended their dominance in the second quarter on a 22-12 run to end the first half, 56-19.

Thunderbolts never looked back as they continued to defend and score in the third canto adding 36 more points under their name while limited NOHS to 16 markers. Tay Tung booked a very comfortable, 92-35 advantage entering the fourth period where they scored 23 points against NOHS’ 10 points.

In the afternoon matches, Escalante National High School ruled over Maranatha Christian College, 99-76 behind its scoring leader Jade Hermedalla who poured 30 points as Ralph Vincent Rapliza and Vergel Pabuaya delivered 18 and 15 points, respectively.

ENHS booked an early 25-16 first-quarter lead before pouring out a 42-16 dominance in the second period for a 67-32 half time advantage. The Northern Negros-based school kept their pace in the second half to seal their initial win in the tournament.

For the last match during the opening day, Livingstone International School pulled off with an 84-76 victory over Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod. Both teams were in a 19-all deadlock in the opening quarter before Livingstone made its way into the winning column.
