P417,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P417,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” was seized in separate drug bust operation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City over the weekend.

The operations also led to the arrest of Reymar Abada, 33, of Purok Kawayanan, Barangay Banago; and Reynaldo Cientos, 44, of Purok Everlasting, Barangay 29, Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said yesterday Cientos was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 led by Major Jovil Sedel after he sold a sachet of shabu a police undercover at Purok Everlasting about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police recovered from Cientos’s possession nine sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P12,000, the 200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Abada was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 led by Major Ruel Culanag at Purok Kawayanan, Barangay Banago Saturday morning.

Police recovered from Abada’s possession seven sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P405, 000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

Pico said Abada was identified as high value target in Bacolod City. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1 and 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
