Central Luzon students reap awards in international math tilt

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Two pupils from Central Luzon reaped honors at the World International Mathematical Olympiad (WIMO) Final held in Tokyo, Japan, from December 27 to 30.

Jakob Gabriel Estabillo of Kalayaan SPED-G and Ralph Benedict Bolaños of Kalalake Elementary School in Olongapo City took home gold awards in their respective categories during WIMO final round.

WIMO is an international math competition were winners from various math competitions are invited to compete with the world’s society of math winners.

The two winners were also honored on Monday, January 6 during flag raising ceremony at the Department of Education Regional Office-Central Luzon. With them were Mrs. Estabillo, Ricardo Quejado (Bolaños’ Coach), OIC-ARD Ronel Al Firmo and Dr. Roger Nuqui, Center Coordinator of the Mathematics Teachers’ Guild.
