Benguet towns note peaceful Yuletide celebrations

ZERO cases of road crashes were recorded in both towns of La Trinidad and Tuba in Benguet during the Christmas and New Year break.

Police Major James Acod, Tuba Municipal Police Station chief, noted the peaceful celebration of the holidays in the municipality and its major thoroughfares.

"There were no major accident recorded with moderate to heavy traffic on December to January 3," he said.

Acod added there were no persons caught illegally selling firecrackers.

Meanwhile, Mount Pulag National Park announced on January 3 through its official Facebook page that all Saturdays of February 2020 are fully booked.

"It is our job to control entry and reservations in the park to protect the mountain. Trekkers are urged to climbe during weekdays," the notice said.

On January 2, trekkers in the Mt. Pulag National Park ranger station continue to make reservations for Saturdays for the month of February, while the management disclosed that the next reservation for the month of March is set on February 1, 2020.

La Trinidad recorded over 240,000 visitors during the holidays.
