THE Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is optimistic that its revenue will hit P70 million for 2019.

DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said she is yet to confirm the figures from the City Treasurers Office (CTO), but she is confident because the terminal has surpassed its P60 million target as of November 2019.

"[As of] month of November pa, na-reach na gyud nako akong target (we have already reached our target) of more or less P65 million," she said.

She attributed the increase in the overall revenue from the additional number of bus trips from 15 bus companies operating in the terminal.

She said there are 700 to 800 bus trips that brings in more than 70,000 passengers a day including peak seasons.

Aside from the bus trips, she added they were able to intensify their tax collection from buses in checkpoints in Ulas and Sasa since 2018.

"In 2018, we requested staff from the City Treasurers Office wherein naa pud sila diha together with the DCOTT staff nga mag issue og trip tickets sa mga bus and vans," she said.

Small buses and vans pay P75 and P200 for big buses.

She noted the highest revenue generated by DCOTT was in 2018 with around P64 million, a huge increase from P25 million in 2017.

Usop said other sources of revenue include peddlers, porters, and stalls.
