AFTER more than three years of helping the grassroots across the country with its needs-based programs, the Barangay Assistance Network Development Foundation Inc. (BAN) is exhausting all its efforts to triple the number of its existing 27 million members this year.
Recently, it gathered its members from various remote points in all regions through a program dubbed “BAN Fiesta, a digital conference.”
The main studio that aired live in all 18 regions was staged in Bacolod City, with BAN ambassadors leading the program. Participants from Negros Occidental convened in Murcia Gymnasium.
The activity was highlighted in raffling off food carts, Pangkabuhayan showcases, and a car. In between, local performers entertained the participants.
Headlining the program was Kapuso artist Alec Calderon who was a former National Male Beauty Contest title holder.
BAN Executive Assistant Jay Abellano underscored the importance of synergy among communities and private organizations to lend assistance. That is why, the organization has set on its eyes to recruit more numbers.
Abellano cleared out speculations that they have political inclinations or soliciting money for membership.
“We are here to share our resources from LinkPhilippines and our partners abroad and we do not have any aspiration to solicit money from anyone,” he added.
BAN in partnership with LinkPhilippines International Inc., and farmer cooperatives will undertake the development of regional multipurpose facilities which is envisioned to promote trade and commerce in each region, stimulate agricultural progress and allow the means to process farm, sea and freshwater produce for export abroad.
This is expected to boost regional socio-economy and generate jobs, improve the lives of the citizenry and instilling the new Filipino spirit towards a united and progressive Philippines we can be truly proud of.
The organization has an existing roster of community leaders working closely with local government units, socio-civic organizations, school partners, and private individuals to take steps in making communities better.
The group’s main agenda are focused on the following: Shelter, Health & Nutrition, Livelihood, Education & Culture, Resources Management & Expansion, Water, Alternative Energy, Food Supply and Resources, Agriculture, Beautification & Environment, Values Formation, Peace and Security. (PR)
