SAGAY City Mayor Alfredo Marañon, III has highlighted his various infrastructure projects worth P677.35 million which is expected to be turned over and inaugurated this 2020.
In his New Year’s address delivered at his first flag ceremony held at the city hall on January 6, Marañon said there are eight infrastructure projects that are up to be turned over to the city.
In the first quarter of the year, the P154-million Sagay Feeder Port expansion project in Barangay Old Sagay, P11.3-million Sagay City Livestock Farm construction and rehabilitation, and the P266-million Sagay Ecozone phase one development will be completed and turned over.
On March, the P119.8-million Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. District Hospital will be completed as installing of hospital furniture and equipment are now being done, he added.
Two projects are expected to be completed on the second quarter of the year. These are the P86-million port facilities improvement and P7-million Rural Health Unit II completion.
Marañon also said that on September, the P33.25-million construction of support facilities for Sagay City Abattoir and Meat Processing Plant and Cold Storage Facility will be completed and the concreting Bato-Baviera-Divina Colonia Farm-to-Market Road is also expected to be done by the third quarter.
In his 20-minute speech, he also announced eight priority programs for 2020 which include P131-million construction of Bus and Jeepney Terminal and P60-million improvement of Slaughterhouse.
The phase two of the Ecozone Development and improvement and expansion of government-run hotel Balay Kauswagan are also in its preparatory stage this year, while the bidding for the construction of bridge connecting Baviera-Bato Road was recently done last month.
Other projects that the city will prioritize this year are the concreting of more farm-to-market roads, barangay roads and bridges to reach far-flung areas, improvement of road lights in the major thoroughfares, and development of tourism sites, he said.
Aside from the infrastructure projects, Marañon also highlighted the city’s programs on 2019 on agriculture, veterinary services, social services, education, nutrition, peace and order, culture and arts, sports, economic enterprise, city disaster and risk reduction management, Sagay marine reserve, and tourism.
The mayor also urged all the public officials and employees of Sagay to elevate their performance this year, as it is a way to fulfill the mandate of serving the people.
