THE participation of the villages in Bacolod City for the Business One-Stop-Shop (Boss) at the Bacolod Government Center (BGC) is now 100 percent.

This was stressed by executive assistant Samuel Montoyo, member of Anti-Red Tape Act Core Team, on Tuesday, January 7 after the village chief of Barangay Tangub finally sent its representative at the BGC for the Boss.

Tangub Village captain Noli Villarosa earlier said they will not join in Boss at the BGC and he wanted the businessmen within his village to secure the clearances from their hall so they could discuss certain issues concerning the village.

Montoyo said the 61 villages already sent their representatives at the BGC, and the concern of Villarosa is only to talk the businessmen within his area about their waste management.

He said the City Legal Office earlier sent a letter to Villarosa asking them to participate in the Boss. Otherwise, disciplinary measures may be considered on the basis of the laws stated in Executive Order 30 and related statutes. Mayor Evelio Leonardia earlier issued an executive order requiring all villages to set up desks at the BGC for the convenience of the taxpayers for the processing of their business permit.

Montoyo said they will monitor the tardiness of the barangay representatives to ensure that they will accommodate the taxpayers who will secure a business barangay clearance.

“We will monitor their attendance because it’s their responsibility to serve our taxpayers,” he said.

The Boss aims to provide convenience and accessibility to the taxpayers. It includes representatives from the City Health Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Office of the Building Official, Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the barangays for the signing of business owner clearances that operates in Bacolod.

The Boss is open from Mondays to Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no noon break. The business owners who pay their taxes in full within the period of January 2 to 20 can avail of a 10 percent discount.
