4 more villages declared drug free

ANOTHER four villages has be declared as drug-free areas in Zamboanga City by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and has been validated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

PDEA regional director Edgar Jubay named the four villages declared as drug free are Pasilmanta, Landang Laum, Tictapul, and Sibulao, all located in the east coast.

Jubay said they were declared as drug cleared as of December 27, 2019, pursuant to the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 3, series of 2017.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar signed last the resolution of the Regional Oversight Committee on BDCP, where she is a member representing the local government unit, declaring the four villages as drug-cleared.

Salazar likewise attested the certificates of declaration of drug cleared of the four villages as validated by the PDEA.

The four villages, having been declared as drug free, are entitled to a P50,000 reward each from the local government as part of this city’s support to the anti-illegal drug campaign waged by the national government.

The declaration of the four as drug-cleared villages has increased to nine areas declared as drug free in this city.

The five others are Lumayang, Lanzones, Capisan, Dulian-Upper Pasonanca, and Tigbalabag. (SunStar Zamboanga)
