Anti-drug operations net 6 persons, P234,000 ‘shabu’

SIX people, including two high-value target (HVT) drug personalities, were arrested while some P234,000 worth of suspected “shabu” seized in separate drug busts in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Friday, January 10.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Aljie Jikiri Ferrer, 24; Roy Gutoman Antonga, 24; Abdurahman Duarte Anong, 35; Maureen Duarte Blanco, 45; Renan Pepito Dacalcal, 33; and Garen Rey Asino Anino, 34.

Galvez said seized from Ferrer, an HVT drug personality, were some P204,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) when arrested around 8:15 a.m. Thursday in Veterans Village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She said also seized from Ferrer were P12,000 marked money.

Galvez said Antonga, listed as Top 10 drug personality, was caught in possession of some P3,000 worth of suspected shabu and P400 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 9:50 p.m. Thursday at Purok Anahaw in Culasian Village, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The police officer said Anong and Blanco were arrested around 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Purok 1 in Port Area Village, Isabela City, Basilan.

Seized from them were some two grams of suspected shabu worth P9,000 and P500 marked money.

Galvez said that Dacalcal and Anino were arrested around 6 p.m. Thursday at Purok 1 in the village of Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

She said recovered from them were some P18,000 worth of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

She formal charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
