THE National Basketball Training Center-Bacolod leg travels down south of Bacolod City where the games will be played Saturday, January 11, at the Barangay Sum-ag gymnasium.
The Sum-ag National High School Golden Stags are expected to play a high level of basketball as they defend their home turf against one of the Group B's leaders Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts in the main game at 4:30 p.m.
Following their tough assignment in the opening day against Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Titans -- where they lost on a slim margin, the Golden Stags booked a convincing victory over Negros Occidental High School.
Thunderbolts, on the other hand, are looking for their third win in the tournament after a come-from-behind win against Livingstone International School last weekend.
Meanwhile, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod will play back-to-back games against Livingstone International School at 11 a.m., followed by an afternoon face-off with NOHS at 1:30 p.m.
In Group A, St. John's Institute Baby Falcons will battle La Consolacion College-Bacolod in Saturday's first game for the top spot.
It was recalled that the Baby Falcons outplayed Escalante National High School, 93-70, behind Joshua Benedict Baldonado's 26 points, while LCC-B outscored University of St. La Salle, 77-70 as Lance Benitez and Kensay Sarco poured 19 points apiece as Jenri Duterte added 17 points.
On the other hand, USLS and Escalante are also scheduled at 9:30 a.m. as the former meets Colegio de San Agustin in the afternoon.
On Sunday, the NBTC-Bacolod leg returns to BAYS Center with LCC and Maranatha Christian College playing at 7:30 a.m., followed by Escalante-CSNT match.
Completing Sunday matches include: (10:30 a.m.) Sum-ag NHS vs Livingstone; (1 p.m.) CSA vs NOHS; (2:30 p.m.) SJI vs USLS; (4 p.m.) Tay Tung vs CSA-B; and (5:30 p.m.) CSNT-R vs LCC-B.
