CLARK FREEPORT -- The Clark International Airport (CRK) is projected to be the next premier gateway of Asia. This, as the airport’s new and modern passenger terminal is nearing completion.

Once completed and operational by the middle of 2020, the new terminal can accommodate 12.2 million passengers every year.

For the Duterte Administration, the development of Clark airport is one of the transformational initiatives that will spur Clark as a major economic hub.

The project is also considered as a pivotal transport infrastructure which is seen to significantly enhance mobility and connectivity, and help decongest air traffic in Metro Manila.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) provided a progress report that the new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of CRK has already reached 93.31 percent completion rate.

“Getting nearer to its completion by mid-2020, this expansion project will boost and triple the current passenger capacity of the airport, from 4.2 million to 12.2 million passengers annually,” the DoTr stated.

This expansion and improvement of CRK is a manifestation of the steadfast commitment of the government to accelerate the realization of the massive “Build, Build, Build” flagship infrastructure program, which is meant for the long term benefit of the country and the Filipino people, the agency added.
