THE University of Cebu (UC) toppled the reigning Cesafi champions Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras, 65-61, in a charity exhibition game at the Cebu Coliseum on Friday evening, January 10, 2020.

The game, which was spearheaded by Cebuano basketball legend Cebu City Councilor Dondon Hontiveros, and backed by Fighter Fifty Wine, was meant to generate funds to help out the fire victims of the areas that were hit by fires in recent weeks.

In the end, it was also Hontiveros and current Talk 'N Text ace and fellow UC alumnus Roger Pogoy that helped the Webmasters emerge on top as they each had 11 points each. Pogoy added six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Another current pro, Brian Heruela--who was a member of the Cesafi title-winning UC squad in 2010 and 2011--also suited up for his alma mater. Adding even more pomp to the festivities was the reigning PBA most valuable player (MVP) June Mar Fajardo, who was in attendance.

William Polican led SWU-Phinma with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Cesafi MVP Shaquille Imperial had an off-night, making just one of his seven attempts from the floor but made seven of his 10 attempts from the charity stripe to finish with nine points, five rebounds and four assists.
