CGBP to launch 2 best practices seminars in Cebu

HEEDING the clamor of many business owners and decision makers based in the Visayas to have more world-class training available to them, the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) will bring two of its best-selling programs to Seda Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City in January 2020.

The first program is on “Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Computerized Accounting System compliance for medium and large taxpayers” to be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020.

With the activation of the BIR special task force called Computerized Systems Evaluation Team to monitor medium and large taxpayers, one can expect more active campaigns and stricter enforcement from the tax authorities. Attendees will gain knowledge and valuable insights on the regulations and rulings, presentation of the challenges of getting their Computerized Accounting System (CAS) accreditation and tips on how to prepare for the actual system demonstration required by the BIR.

This program is designed to help medium and large taxpayers hurdle and solve their CAS challenges, issues and most importantly, prevent those dreaded BIR penalties.

Meanwhile, the new Incoterms 2020 took effect at the start of the year.

Incoterms refers to the international commercial terminologies used by traders, importers, exporters, customs brokers, logistics companies, non-life insurers, bankers in the shipment of goods via land, air and sea.

Embedded in these terminologies are the trade rules that clearly define the sellers’ and buyers’ obligations as part of a contract.

To help businesses be updated on these changes, CGBP is hosting a one-day training entitled, “Incoterms 2020: Revised International Rules in the Interpretation of Trade Terms” to be held on Friday, Jan. 31.

This program is a Continuing Professional Development-accredited event. Accountants attending this training will earn points. These programs are open to the general public.

CGBP is an accredited training provider of the Civil Service Commission. Attendees from the government can earn points for their career advancement and are exempted from the P2,000 registration fee when attending training conducted by the private sector based on the Department of Budget and Management Circular 563 issued on April 22, 2016.
