THE Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (Bredco) port can accommodate the influx of passengers now that they have established a modern terminal facility.

This new terminal port, named after the father of the city port lawyer Simplicio “Sammy” Palanca, can accommodate 5,000 passengers according to Josephine Solis, port operation manager.

In fact, they have experienced a full house for several days after New Year where passengers have to go back to their respective destinations from Bacolod to Manila, Bacolod to Iloilo and vice versa.

Passengers have appreciated the comfort that they have enjoyed despite the surging of passengers, but still, they were all able to find seats in an air-conditioned seaport terminal.

The management has put in x-ray machines at the main entrance and conducts physical check to ensure the safety of its passengers.

This x-ray machine can only be seen in airports, but the local port management has ensured that this facility will also be installed in the terminal to detect luggage that has harmful or risky content.

During the peak season, all passengers were accommodated and have returned to their respective destinations safely.
