MEGACRYL, Powerfloor, Wall-Art and Sun & Rain all advanced to the semifinals after they disposed of their quarterfinal foes in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Club 5th Davies Paints Cup at the University of San Carlos gym on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.

Megacryl took down Bio-Fresh, 115-109, thanks to the all-around performance of former M. Lhuillier-Cebu Niños standout Jett Latonio, who filled the stat-sheet up with 36 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks. Also helping Latonio out were Paul Besinga and Patrick Paran who had 22 points each while Ed Macasling tallied 17.

Powerfloor also powered past Liquid Tile, 91-75, as Carl Caramonte and Joel Japon proved too tough to handle for the latter’s defense. Caramonte finished with 34 points while Japon had 28 points, 19 rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots.

Meanwhile, Wall Art ousted Safe Track, 85-75, as Chester Hinagdanan had 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Big man Christopher Gayotin put up 21 even as Poi Magno and Kurt Vanguardia tallied 16 and 14 points, respectively.

And finally, Sun & Rain overwhelmed Aqua Gloss IT, 136-75. Kyle Esbra waxed hot from the field as he led the winning side with 35 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks. Ayi Armenion was equally lethal with 32 points while Arnel Cordero fired in 24 markers.
