SM Seaside’s ‘AweSM Cebu’ features Lechon Festival, music and more

CEBUANOS are known for their hearty meals with family and friends. During celebrations, the feasting would not be complete if the lechon baboy (roast whole pig) is missing on the table.

With this in mind, SM Seaside City Cebu presents its lechon festival at an event dubbed “AweSM Cebu” at the Mountain Wing Atrium. The pilot launch of “AweSM Cebu” happens this Jan. 16. The four-day event will officially open with a ceremonial lechon-cutting, followed by an AweSM expo participated in by local product entrepreneurs.

One may buy Cebu lechon—with recipes coming from the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Talisay, Carcar and the municipality of Liloan—all in one place.

Meanwhile, the Watercolor Society will exhibit its paintings alongside with a workshop, back-to-back with an exhibit from renowned designer Cary Santiago who will showcase the iconic gowns of Miss Universe 2019 Philippines Gazini Ganados.

In Jan. 17, band Missing Filemon will perform at the Mountain Wing Atrium, 5 p.m., and in Jan. 18, a culinary contest is set to challenge Cebuanos to render their own recipes, innovating the way of cooking lechon.

In Jan. 19, band Powerspoonz will perform at the Skypark starting 8 p.m. Right after the performance, a Seaside Pyromagic and Drone Light Show will conclude the activity. (PR)
