THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by policemen have arrested a drug personality, who is in the drug watch list, in Zamboanga del Sur, a top PDEA official said Tuesday, January 14.
Newly-installed PDEA regional director Emerson Margate identified the arrested suspect as Samsodin Malaco alias Kart, 38, a resident of the village of Lutuan, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.
Margate said Malaco was arrested in a drug bust around 10 a.m. Monday at Sitio Alta Tierra in the village of Tiguma, Pagadian City, the province’s capital.
He said seized from the possession of Malaco were some P68,000 worth of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money, a cellular phone, and a brown envelope.
The PDEA official said cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is set to be filed against the suspect, who was detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
